It's really hard to go back to work after being in Hawaii for 10 days and then have a long weekend off. Yes I have piles of papers, messages and fires on my desk but I just wanted to take the time to reflect on our annual meeting. I was dismayed that the bylaw changes (all of them) were defeated especially becuase a couple of them were just house keeping clean ups. I can understand the change to the way we vote and who can vote but honestly we are in the computer age. As I stated in the caucuses I am for everyone voting that wants to as long as they are an active or lifetime member. I'm sure on the application to be a member it clearly states that as an active member that is one of my entitlements and yet I am being denied that right simply because I am not in the right place at the right time. I believe that we have made an error in judgement by voting this down and unfortunately we cannot rectify it until the next annual meeting. I would also like to congratulate Marilyn Niwao on becoming our second vice president, would have liked it to have been me but the voters have spoken and now it's time to get on with life. It was great seeing everyone again, missed those of you who could not attend and look forward to seeing you all in Indianapolis.
