IRS "Fresh Start" Open House: Taxpayer Assistance

  
The IRS announced today that it will hold an open house at dozens of its Taxpayer Assistance Centers across the country this coming Saturday, July 16, 2011, to answer taxpayer questions and provide help with tax filing issues.  Preparers should note this event is part of the IRS “Fresh Start” program and is particularly intended for people who want to take steps to have liens withdrawn.. 

A total of 74 Taxpayer Assistance Centers will be open in 34 states, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time. Tax professionals can find out which Centers will be participating by going to the IRS website, www.irs.gov
