The WAA consistently promotes NSA at all our events. Once a person becomes an NSA member, it becomes easier to see the benefits such a relationship can bring to the member. But why the dual membership? That's the question that is always weighed, once we sign up a new member and then immediately start promoting another membership to them. I think it would be extremely wise and good membership building strategy if there was a true reciprocal agreement designed to offer free membership in one or the other organization, upon initial membership (first year). Of course the association signing the member would get their full dues and then the senior or junior association (NSA or ASO), whichever one did not gain the initial membership, would be the one providing the free first-year membership. THEN, if the value to the member, was indeed a real value (via NSA or ASO) the member would most certainly renew, one or the other membership - more importantly, both. Shouldn't we all truly earn our member's loyalty, from real value, rather than merely being satisfied with pride of legacy, membership? Food for thought. Would really, really like to hear from others on this notion. Is this the kind of stuff "Go-Getters" think about?
