One of the most vital roles NSA can play in the lives of it's members, over the next decade, is to provide: on-going practice transition education/advice/links which are libraried/archived and promoted. We are all exposed to the constant drone of "we are an aging society" (NSA included), largely relative to the "boomers", of which I are one. Not only will the next 10-15 years be the largest transfer of wealth, one generation to the next, (albeit, somewhat reduced at this point) but it will also be a huge transition of our practices into obscurity, into less than capable hands or into well structured transitions (successful for BOTH sides).
As a Society, which pulls thousands together into one central databank, providing quality IRS and accounting education is a natural fit for bringing value with membership. Howsomeever, NSA needs to take a serious look at the significant role it can play in the lives of it's members, over the next decade, by preparing and then LINKING the two sides of a transition together. This does not need to be left to the brokers out there. Good solid transitions can come together if the training is in place and the culture to encourage them and enable them is provided. AND, the younger folks may just get a bit of a notion of the value an NSA membership could bring to them..........
I only hope this post spurs serious conversation and calls to action. If not..........ho, hum...........
