Well it truly is over here in San Jose. The news here is that those attending really do care about their clients and about compliance. The consents and disclosure presentation was well received and I think that Kathy and I made a somewhat boring (albeit crucial) subject come to life in the minds of those attending. Most of the questions during these sessions were about how to get the reference material because everyone was concerned about compliance. After the S-Corporation presentations, Kathy and I were asked several times about S-Corp officer compensation and a large amount of questions centered on the issue of self-rental. According to Kathy these were big issues last year and seem to still be the hot topics here in San Jose. Kathy and I had a great time presenting and meeting current and future NSA members in San Jose; it is really a great town and the meeting facilities were top notch. If you ever have the chance to visit a must check out is the “Mezcal” restaurant. It advertises to be the “Cuisine of Oaxaca, Mexico” and all I can say is that the food and service is incredible. Don’t leave till you have them prepare their guacamole right at your table side. And I promised Kathy I wouldn’t say anything about the margaritas (they were phenomenal).
