Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to chat with power duo Bill Parrish and Bob Cross, longtime NSA members and instructors for numerous NSA ConnectEd Webinars. Their current project is a 3-Part Series on "Revolutionizing Your Practice" and covers "What Am I Worth?," "Marketing on a Budget," and "Managing the Workflow"  and aims to provide practical knowledge and ways to implement concepts learned in the classroom immediately in your practice.

What can attendees look forward to learning in "Marketing on a Budget"? 

Bill: Bob and I are excited about this presentation, we believe it is going to be one of the best events the members of NSA can participate in ever. For us, it will also be one of our most fun things we have done together. We will have a lot of material to cover, but attendees receive copies of all the slides for the presentation in advance, and  will receive copies of all the slides for the presentation in advance, and in effect have a ‘how to manual’ for their future efforts. 


What do you think is the most common misconception about marketing for accountants and tax practitioners? 


Bill: Most accountants don't think that they are marketers, but I would beg to differ! Time and time again I have seen fellow accountants gain clients through smart marketing.  I would add that most accountants seem to feel that that they don't have the budget for any kind of marketing. We want to dispel that myth! I believe that every dollar of new revenue should be tracked to the portion of the plan that generated the dollar- this concept directly transfers into marketing efforts. 


Can you give us an  idea of some of the tools and strategies you and Bob will be sharing? 


Bill: We'll be covering the core concepts of internal marketing, identifying new clients, and exploring the concept and application of the term "drip marketing." We'll also be exploring ways to implement and strengthen referral marketing as one of the most powerful and most cost effective tool available to accountants. We look forward to meeting everyone in cyberspace tomorrow; I’ll bring the donuts.
