Owner of Weickgenant Accounting Inc., having purchased the business from his father, Peter, who established the practice in 1958. The firm is a year-round practice doing personal, corporate and partnership returns as well as many business financial statements from throughout the state of Wisconsin. Jim is a long-time resident of Baraboo, WI, home of the Ringling Brothers Circus and Devils Lake State Park, one of the most visited state parks in the country.
He is married to Myrna Weickgenant, a recently retired 6th grade teacher, who now works for Jim during the tax season and in the off-season follows her passion as a Master Gardner into the flower gardens she maintains at their home, office and church. They have four adult children, two boys and two girls as well as one grandchild. They love the outdoors and frequently go camping, fishing, hiking, biking and kayaking.
Jim is active in the community having been the high school volleyball Jr Varsity and Varsity Coach from 2000-2007, a charter member of the Baraboo Rotary Club having served as past president of the club as well as a 25 year (and counting) perfect attendance award winner. In addition Jim currently serves on the Sauk County Historical Society Board and he and Myrna sing in the Emanuel United Methodist Church choir.
