Currently an Auditor with the Travis Area Audit Office (TRAAO) Team – D (Minot/Ellsworth) located at the Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota operating location.Perform various operational audits in areas such as procurement, logistics, civil engineering, readiness, information systems and others.
Mr. Ortiz-Fuentes began his federal career in 1991 as an officer in the Army. After completing active duty, in 1997 he joined the National Guard in Puerto Rico until 2000. Then, he joined the Army Reserve in 2003 until his retirement in 2015 including four deployments during Operations Iraqi Freedom (OIF),Enduring Freedom (OEF) and New Dawn (OND). Also, he entered the private sector and worked in a variety of accounting and tax related positions until 2005.
Mr. Ortiz-Fuentes entered the federal civilian service in 2005 as an auditor with the Air Force Audit Agency(AFAA) until 2008. During his first tenure with the agency, he performed various operational audits in areas such as procurement, logistics, civil engineering, readiness, information systems and others. From 2008 to 2018, Mr. Ortiz-Fuentes joined the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) as an auditor responsible for independently performing contract audit assignments using methods and techniques that are conventional and apply to most situations.
