  • 1.  Obtaining an Old Tax Return Transcript

    Posted 11-02-2023 09:49 AM

Has anyone had success obtaining a tax return transcript 10+ years old? Client needs a copy of 2011 to provide to Social Security, who doesn't have record of that tax year.

I filed a Form 4506-T, but it looks like it may only be applicable for the 3 most recent years. Practitioner Priority also indicated they could only go 3 years back.

    Thank you,

    Lauren Sundo

I am having the same issue for tax information that the City of Philadelphia is requesting for 2006!  We were successful in getting a transcript for the tax year 2006 But it took a while.  However, we needed a W2, and per the IRS, to get that, a 4506 and a fee of $30 is required.  If they cannot find the form, the $30 will be refunded.

    I hope this helps.
