Changes to the New Tax Bill One of Many Topics to be Presented at the NSA Annual Convention

Registration Now Open for NSA Convention, August 22-25, Minneapolis, Minn.

The National Society of Accountants (NSA) Annual Convention bridges the gap between the signing of H.R.1-- Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and preparing tax professionals to understand how the changes will impact their clients. The event is slated for August 22-25 in Minneapolis, Minn.

“Thus far, 2018 has been a very exciting and challenging year,” said NSA President Brian L. Thompson, CPA. “New tax changes made widespread changes to the Internal Revenue Code, impacting nearly everything from child tax credits to divorce calculations, and small business deductions to homeownership deductions. While these changes present a great opportunity for independent CPAs and tax preparers to work closely with clients, there’s so much new for us to learn.”

According to Thompson, the NSA 73rd Annual Convention in Minneapolis focuses on important issues that educate, protect and enhance the business operations of accountants and tax preparers. Selected topics include: changes in the new tax law; safeguarding information from cyberattacks; protecting IT infrastructure; and expanding business practices through estates and trusts.  All sessions qualify for continuing Professional Education (CPE), totaling 16 hours.  Attendees registering for the full conference package are permitted to attend NSA's Leadership Networking & Legislative Strategy Conference, which runs concurrently with NSA’s convention events.

NSA will kick off this energetic agenda early in the week with the popular, three-day EA Exam Review Course as well as the Accredited Tax Preparer (ATP) exam review and onsite ATP exam, with the added twist of also offering the Accredited Retirement Advisor (ARA) exam.

Registration for the NSA Annual Convention is now open at www.NSAAnnualMeeting.org/Registration.

Registration fees are $625 for NSA Members and $799 for non-members. Early Bird Discount- applies through July 15th. The convention hotel is the Minneapolis Marriott City Center; discounted room rate of $159/night is valid through July 30, 2018. Full details Annual Convention, including session highlights and speakers, may be found on the NSA website.
