Norm worked as a staff CPA for both regional and international accounting firms in Portland, Oregon before teaming up with Camas CPA, Gary Douglass, to form the accounting firm of Douglass & Paulson P.C. in 1994. As time has passed, the firm has grown to a full and part time staff of ten. Following the retirement of Mr. Douglass in 2004, Norm assumed responsibility for managing the practice. Laura Dyra, CPA joined Norm as an owner of the business in 2016. The accounting practice focuses on providing tax, accounting and business compliance, planning and consulting services to closely held businesses and their owners.
Norm was married to Lisa in 1986. Lisa has held many positions in commercial banking and lending since she began her career. Our son, Will, currently works in a corporate accounting department, grudgingly following in his father's footsteps. Our daughter-in-law is a music teacher for the Washougal School District, as well as a gifted performer.
Since 1999, the Paulson family has hosted seven Rotary and AFS youth exchange students from Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Argentina, England and Switzerland. When he can find the free time, Norm’s hobbies include boating & fishing, photography, camping and traveling with his family.
