Tax collections can be as stressful on the tax advisor as they can be on the client. There are various forms and letters that the IRS may send and a number of different collection procedures and defenses that may be employed. This webinar will cover the foundations of tax collections, the tools the IRS has to collect outstanding tax liabilities, the options available to the taxpayer to resolve a collection case, and the procedures for reaching a resolution. Concepts to be covered include tax liens and levies, collection due process hearing, installment agreements and offers in compromise.
