NSA Enrolled Agent Exam Prep Course August 20-22

Registration Open for NSA’s highly-acclaimed EA Exam Prep Course  in Minneapolis, prior to NSA National Conference

Accounting and tax professionals looking to take the Enrolled Agent (EA) Exam in 2018 can increase their success rate by participating in NSA’s highly-acclaimed Enrolled Agent Exam Preparation Course August 20-22, at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center. Future EA exams and supporting course materials will reflect changes under the new tax law. As such, the 2018 exam and prep course enables professionals to become an EA under previous tax laws.

NSA's Enrolled Agent Exam Review Course is a comprehensive review geared toward a single purpose: to help professionals master tax basics and pass the EA exam—on the first try. NSA’s course is one of only a handful of in-person EA training courses, which allows for personal interaction with course experts throughout the three-day course.

The NSA Enrolled Agent Exam Review Course is offered in three parts and includes 24 hours of in-depth review. Individuals may take any one part or all three parts, as follows:

  • Day 1:  Monday, August 20, EA Part 1: Individuals
  • Day 2:  Tuesday, August 21, EA Part 2: Businesses
  • Day 3:  Wednesday, August 22, EA Part 2: Businesses cont. (morning); EA Part 3: Representation, Practices & Procedures (afternoon)

Day 1 is also a review course for those interested in becoming an Accredited Tax Preparer (ATP). The ATP credential, offered by the Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation, has exempt status for the IRS Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP); as such, ATPs do not have to take the required Annual Federal Tax Refresher Course as part of the AFSP. Individuals interested in earning the ATP credential, can take Day 1 of the review course followed by the ATP exam Tuesday morning. The ATP course package also includes one additional hour on ethics and the ATP self-study preparatory course materials.

All study EA materials are included in the registration fee. The fees for the EA courses are:

  • Complete course (all three parts): $699 for NSA members and $775 for nonmembers
  • Part 1: $275 for NSA members and $325 for nonmembers
  • Part 2: $375 for NSA members and $425 for nonmembers
  • Part 3: $200 for NSA members and $250 for nonmembers

The fee for the ATP course (Part 1 of the EA course) is $275 for NSA members and $325 for nonmembers. The cost to take the ATP exam is an additional $100.

All courses are approved for continuing professional education (CPE) by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation (ACAT) and California Tax Education Council (CTEC).

Full details of the course including exam times and course leaders, may be found on the NSA website at www.nsacct.org/eacourse.

Reservations for the Minneapolis Marriott City Center can be made online or by calling 877-303-0104. Room rate is $159/night and must be reserved by July 30, 2018 to receive the discounted group rate.
