Kathy
Hettick, EA, ABA, ATP of Enumclaw, WA was elected President of the National
Society of Accountants (NSA) at the recent NSA 70th Annual Meeting in Vancouver,
British Columbia, Canada. She will serve in the position for one year.
Hettick brings years of accounting
experience with her to the position as she has owned her accounting and tax
practice, Hettick Accounting in Enumclaw, WA, for the last 28 years. She is
also an educator and provides continuing education to the tax profession and
has spoken at the IRS Tax Forums for the last six years.
She is an active member of several
professional organizations including NSA and Washington Association of
Accountants (WAA) and has held numerous leadership positions at local, state
and national levels, including WAA President. In 2007, Hettick was awarded the
NSA Distinguished Service Award and has served as an NSA Administrative Chair
for seven years.
She holds the credentials of Enrolled Agent
(EA), Accredited Business Advisor (ABA), and Accredited Tax Preparer (ATP).
“I am thrilled to lead NSA this year as we face many
important issues for our members, the ‘Main Street’ tax and accounting
professionals,” Hettick said. “Our highest priority is our members and
providing the timely and high-quality service they need to better serve their
clients. We are committed to working with the Internal Revenue Service to
ensure the services they provide benefit both our members and our members’
clients in the best way possible.”
