Curt Lee, ATA, ATP, has owned his accounting practice in Raleigh, NC, C B Lee & Company, for 37 years. He is an active member of several organizations including the National Society of Accountants since 1991 and the North Carolina Society of Accountants since 1981.
He has held numerous positions with both organizations & currently serves as NSA Second Vice-President. He served as Secretary/Treasurer from 2015 to 2018. Prior to election to that position he served as the Administrative Chair-Right to Practice for NSA from 2010-2015. In addition, Curt served as NSA State Director from North Carolina from 2008-2015 and on the Regulation Oversight Committee from 2005-2010. He also held officer postions in his ASO including President in 1992-93. He has been involved in legislative affairs in North Carolina since 1988 and has served as Legislative Chair in NC since 1996 working to protect the practice rights of unlicensed accountants.
He chaired the Meredith College Golf Tournament for numerous years. The event generated funds for the scholarship foundation for students in need of tuition assistance. In addition he has been an instructor for the North Carolina State University Income Tax Schools since 2005 reaching over 1,800 tax practitioners each year. He has traveled across the country speaking and promoting NSA at many ASO meetings and conferences from 2005 to present. He also travels extensively in North Carolina and across the nation speaking about practice rights of unlicensed accountants and promoting the value of memberships in the ASO & NSA.
Curt believes in NSA and the great benefits in offers to its members, from advocacy to tax research; it's the organization that small practitioners need to belong to.
In his spare time Curt enjoys golfing, boating, and spending time at the coast with friends.
